Tai Chi Master, Shifu Dookie

Tai Chi, which means “Grand Ultimate,” is a form of moving meditation that utilizes slow-motion movement with synchronized breathing that calms the mind and relaxes the body. Practiced by both young and old, Tai Chi emphasizes balance, coordination, breath control, correct posture, and mental concentration. The continued practice of this art ultimately leads to robust physical strength, mental clarity, emotional calm, serenity, and an overall improved quality of life.

Tai Chi is a time-tested set of exercises that gently improves the health of the internal organs and fosters greater balance and mind-body connection. Meet Master Shifu Dookie

Shifu Jerome Dookie began studying martial arts at 25, specializing in T'ien Shan P'ai Kung Fu. Under Grandmasters Dennis Brown, Samuel Scott, and Wallace Powell, Shifu Dookie began competing in forms, weapons, and fighting in 1991. In 1994, he was involved in a serious car accident that left him partially disabled. Doctors told him he would no longer be able to practice martial arts, however, a year later, he discovered Tai-Chi Chuan and became an avid practitioner of the art discovering its many health benefits and deadly combat quality.

Tai-Chi incorporates special breathing exercises called Chi-Kung, a form of moving meditation that enables many health benefits including improved blood circulation, muscle development, and many cardiovascular benefits. All of this led Shifu Dookie on a lifelong quest for physical and spiritual self-healing. His determination enabled him to earn black belts in both Kung-Fu and Tai-Chi.
